Sweet Waffles

You can't beat a good waffle- especially one dripping in our Sundae Strawberry Sauce!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Plain flour
  • 1/4 cup Caster sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking powder
  • 400 ml Milk
  • 4 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 150 g Butter, melted

Suggested Serving Ingredients

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
  2. Add milk, eggs and vanilla essence. Whisk until just combined. Add melted butter and whisk until smooth.
  3. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Heat your waffle maker to the desired setting. Fill with mixture (it will expand quite a bit on cooking) and cook waffles to your liking. Keep warm in a low oven (~100ºC) on a rack, if needed.
  5. Add your favourite toppings and serve.

Tips

  1. Waffle batter can be made the night before and refrigerated until ready to use in the morning.
  2. Recipe is easily halved to make 3 waffles.
  3. Try swirling Barker’s compotes or dessert sauces through the waffle batter before cooking. Yum!!
