Classic Shakshuka

This classic shakshuka features a rich, spiced tomato base infused with garlic, cumin and paprika, topped with perfectly baked eggs and creamy feta. Finished with yoghurt and fresh coriander, it’s a comforting, flavour-packed dish that’s perfect for sharing any time of day.

Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Large Onion, Halved and Thinly Sliced
- 400 ml Barker's Professional Shakshuka Filling
- 375 ml Chopped Tomatoes In Puree
- 3 Garlic Cloves, Thinly Sliced
- 1 tsp Cumin, ground
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika
- ⅛ tsp Cayenne pepper
- 140 g Feta cheese, crumbled
- 6 Large Eggs
- Greek Yoghurt
- chopped coriander
Method
- Heat oven to 190°.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until very soft.
- Add the Barker’s Professional Shakshuka Filling, chopped tomatoes and seasoning. Simmer until thickened. Stir in the crumbled feta.
- Gently crack the eggs into a skillet over the tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake until the eggs are just set (7 to 10 minutes).
- Stir some of the coriander into the yoghurt and sprinkle some on top of the eggs, and serve.
