Caramel Walnut Slice

Rich caramel and crunchy walnuts make this slice a decadent treat that’s perfect for sharing (or not!).

Ingredients

  • 1 batch pre-made standard sweet pastry
  • 1 kg Barker’s Professional Caramel Classic Creme
  • 350 grams chopped walnuts
  • Chocolate ganache or standard icing

Method

  1. Using a standard sweet pastry recipe line a slice tin.
  2. Combine Barker’s Professional Caramel Classic Creme and the chopped walnuts. Microwave on high for approximately 1 minute or until softened.
  3. Deposit on top of the sweet pastry and spread out evenly. (The slice tin should be at least half full).
  4. Bake at 180°C for approximately 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown in colour.
  5. Once cool, you can ice with either a chocolate ganache or standard chocolate icing.
