Shakshuka Sausage Rolls
Serves 12 sausage rolls (approximately 70g each) people
These golden, flaky sausage rolls are packed with a rich, spiced shakshuka filling, bringing a bold twist to a classic favourite. Layered with herbs and baked to perfection, they deliver a delicious balance of savoury flavour and crisp pastry. Ideal for snacking, sharing, or on-the-go bites.

Ingredients
- Pre-made Flaky Pastry
- 450 g Sausage meat
- 1 Egg
- 2 g Salt
- 2 g White Pepper
- 220 g Barker's Professional Shakshuka Filling
- 14 g Fresh Herbs
- 60 g Breadcrumbs
- 2 g Sesame seeds
Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl fitted with a paddle. Mix on low speed for one minute.
- Transfer the sausage meat mixture into a canvas piping bag fitted with a large, round, plastic, piping nozzle. Pipe a thick line of the mixture across the pre-lined flaky pastry, taking care not to drag the meat. Egg wash just below the line of the meat.
- Roll the pastry over the meat to form a sausage roll. Gently score across the top. Brush with egg wash, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Cut into 3-centimetre lengths (approximately) and place on an oven tray, making sure the seam is on the bottom.
- Bake at 190°C for about 22 minutes, depending on the oven.
